THURSDAY CLUB

The Virginia Thursday Club conducts competitions every Thursday. These are men’s open competitions and are normally Four Ball Best Ball stableford events.

To be eligible to join the Thursday Club, players must have a current Golf Australia handicap and be a member of a Golf Australia affiliated golf club. There is a small joining fee for the Club and all players play at reduced rates. You must be a financial member of the Club to win a major prize. Non VGC members who are members of the Thursday Club receive balls in lieu of major prizes.

Entry into the Thursday Club competition occurs through making an online booking as part of the normal Thursday event. On Thursdays from 6.00am – 10.30 members can play either the Thursday Club comp or a single stableford or both (extra cost to play both events-currently $5). From 10.30 onwards members must play in the Thursday Club as the default competition but for the extra payment can also play in the single Stableford competition.

The Thursday Club is essentially a Virginia Golf Club social  club with a modified handicapping system. . All monies raised during the year are returned to members via “Special Days” as well as reduced drink prices and various other activities. The Thursday Club also makes an annual donation to support VGC junior golf.
