Members, we trust everyone is OK and have experienced little damage from the weekends weather event. Whilst on Course there are trees down, lots of debris and flooding (albeit better today than yesterday) we advise that the clubhouse and particularly lower levels remain soun d & dry, we were most worried about this mornings high tiode and yesterdyas rain in the catchment, but we have dodged this bullet.
The club house will re-open for food & beverage (and coffee) tomorrow as normal, we will restock the Proshop tomorrow and be open on Wendesday. Works will begin on course when access allows for equipment but hopefully our couse staff & volunteers can start rubbish & debris removal tomorrow. We have a contractor booked for Thursday to cut up fallen trees (at this stage we think at least 7 trees down) but to date we are unable to access some parts of the course to assess this situation fully. Whilst difficult to determine when VGC will re-open for Golf, weather permitting, maybe some golf by the weekend hopefully.
