Dear Members, firstly we trust all will be safe from impact of Tropical Cyclone Alfred over the next few days.
In preparing for the weather event, the course will be closed from tomorrow Wednesday at 12 noon. Due to concerns relating to high winds and safety risks from tree/branches falling, tomorrows scheduled Women’s competition has been cancelled. Competitions scheduled on both Thursday & Friday have also been cancelled.
At this stage, Saturday & Sunday competition remains on a ‘to be advised’ basis, subject to the amount of rain we receive and impact on the course.
We expect the Clubhouse will remain open for at least Thursday subject to weather, however our monthly Trivia night scheduled for tomorrow Wednesday evening has been cancelled and will be rescheduled to another date (to be advised).
Club & Course staff will be undertaking preparation works to protect the clubhouse from tomorrow morning including sandbagging lower areas of the building, moving floor stock, removal of chairs, bins etc from outside areas, relocating golf carts etc in the potential for a flooding event similar to 2022.
