EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

The 2025 Men’s Pennant season is set to take place over six weeks from 13th July to 17th August. At Virginia Golf Club, we’re committed to putting together a competitive, well-prepared team, and to do so, we’re kicking off the preparation early.

We’re inviting all Virginia Golf Club members with a GA handicap of 5 or lower (Opens), 9 or lower (Seniors) & 15 or lower (Juniors) to express interest in being part of the Pennant selection process.

Becoming a VGC pennant player is a great honour and responsibility. Upholding respect for the game and the club means embodying values such as sportsmanship, integrity, and courtesy both on and off the course. It’s important to follow the rules of the game, show respect to your fellow players, and maintain a positive attitude, win or lose. Respect is essential in ensuring the traditions of the game continue and that you represent Virginia Golf Club with pride. More importantly, we want you to have fun while doing it.

Once your name is nominated for consideration, we will monitor your scores and results from VGC and local events. Pennant trials will take place in April (exact dates to be confirmed).

After the trials, an extended training squad will be selected, and we will closely track the form and progress of all squad members. The final Pennant team will be chosen based on form, past performance, and match play history, with input from the team managers and captains. The selected team will then participate in a series of training sessions, trial matches and practice rounds at Keperra, Redcliffe and Wynnum golf courses.

If you’re interested in being considered, we encourage you to put your name forward and your commitment known by March 15th 2025.

If you have any questions about the selection process, please reach out to me directly. We’re excited to build what we hope will be the most competitive Pennant team and claim the Div 2 title !!
