COMPETITION ELIGIBILITY & HANDICAPS
Unless otherwise stated, competitions are contested over 18 holes and are only open to all current members (provided they are entitled to play under their relevant membership category) excepting that Points Members are ineligible to win Major Club events (Honour Board events)
The maximum handicap for members is 36 strokes for men and 45 strokes for women.
Open Competitions.
Members of other Clubs may participate in Open Competitions as scheduled from time to time provided the player holds a current AGU Golf Handicap.
Invitation Competitions.
Members of other Clubs may participate in Invitation competitions as scheduled from time to time provided the player holds a current AGU Golf Handicap and is invited to participate by a current VGC member.
Where stroke play competitions are conducted over more than one round, a player’s handicap will be that which exists at the commencement of the first round.
Handicaps used in stroke play competitions are as follows:
Competition Handicap
Individual Full handicap
Four ball best ball Full handicap of each player
Foursomes 1/2 of the combined handicap of the team
Canadian foursomes 3/8 of the combined handicap of the team
American foursomes 3/8 of the combined handicap of the team
2-ball Ambrose 1/4 of the combined handicap of the team
4-ball Ambrose 1/8 of the combined handicap of the team
