SUSPENSION OF PLAY
The following signals are used in regards to suspension of play:
- Discontinue play immediately: One prolonged note of siren.
- Discontinue play for the day: Three consecutive notes of siren, repeated.
- Resume play: Two short notes of siren, repeated.
When the “discontinue play immediately” siren has sounded, the players in the match or group must stop play immediately. If a player fails to do so, he/she is disqualified unless circumstances warrant waving the penalty as provided in Rule 5.7. A player must not resume until the resume siren has sounded.
