Dear Members, This weekend will see the return of the much anticipated Honour Board event the R.W Wilson Memorial, this is a handicap Team Match Play event. Saturday’s event is the qualifying round for the Match Play phase with the top 32 teams going through to play the seeded draw over the following five weeks and the winners crowned on Saturday June 7th 2025. This event is also played in conjunction with the daily event another Men’s Honour Board event the Oliver Sharp Memorial.

The R.W. Wilson Memorial is named in honour of the late Bob Wilson, Bob was a former Captain at Virginia Golf Club from 1957 &1958 and president, 1961 & 1962 and later Patron 1982 – 1997. Bob was considered one of the most respected and liked Virginian’s of all time. In 1973 the club Captain introduced the a four-ball match play tournament to be named in Bob’s honour, and over time it has become one of the clubs most prestigious events.
