Dear Members, we write to advise of a proposed change to the timesheet on Saturday 4th January 2025 as a trial for improving the pace of play in busy competitions. .
On the time sheet for the 4th Jan, members will notice that that the first 2 tee spots (at 5.59am & 6.06am) & the last 2 tee spots of the morning field (7.58am & 8.05am) on both the 1st & 10th tees will be blocked for member bookings.
This reduction in tee times is aimed at assessing whether this provides any improvement in wait times currently experienced at changeover when morning players are transitioning to play their 2nd 9 holes in the competition.
At the moment, it is apparent that there can be extended delays in the transition to the 2nd 9 holes of the comp (particularly on the 10th hole) which then flows to delays on subsequent holes, most particularly on 12th ,13th & 14th holes on the back 9 and is impacting on pace of play when this occurs.
The trial will be conducted only on the 4th January (as expected to be less players due to the holiday period) to assess what difference this change makes, if any, to the changeover to the 1st & 10th tees respectively.
