The 2024 Virginia Cup was played under cloudy but fine conditions with some solid scores posted throughout the day. The event was played in conjunction with the June Monthly Medal and qualifying for the clubs feature individual Match Play Event the Captain’s Trophy. The top 16 players from todays qualifying round will make it through the match play phase of this event. In the matches the lower marker will concede strokes to the other player using the match play index. Handicaps in all matches are to be those used during the qualifying round.

A Grade : Chris Crooks was victorious winning with a score of 68 nett ocb from Warren Smith and Darren Shepherd both finishing with 68 nett. Gross went to Sam Batch on 71.
B Grade : Josh Malcomson finished on top with a good score of 64 nett, five shots clear of Craig Hall R/up ocb with a score of 69 nett. Gross went to James Heiniger on 82.
C Grade : Garry Fraser playing off 34 H’cap had a solid score of 62 nett to complete a double taking out C Grade and winning the Virginia Cup, six shots clear of Lewis Ballard on 68 nett. Gross winner went to Ian Squires on 88.
Women’s Winner: Noelene Stoney won with a great score of 71 nett just two shots clear of Leanda Whitton on 73 nett. Women’s gross went to Kea Schwarz.
Heritage Winner : Went to David Pringle on 24 pts.
