As many are aware, the Club’s Board of Directors have been closely monitoring 7 day membership growth at VGC, and this matter was again discussed in detail at this weeks Board meeting.
As of this morning, the Club has reached the maximum level of 7 day membership set by the Board, and as a result, a temporary closure of this category for new members will take immediate effect.
New members seeking to join as 7 day members will be offered 6 day membership and placed on a priority wait list to be offered 7 day membership when the 7 Day category re-opens for new members. At this time, we cannot predict when this will occur as any decision to re-open the category will rely on a reduction of current 7 day membership numbers.
This decision has been taken in support of existing members and particularly on Saturdays, as whilst over previous months all waitlisted members for Saturday competitions have been able to get a game, the Board is looking towards the winter period where there are less tee times available due to reduction in daylight hours. The decision is simply aimed at ensuring existing 7 day members are able to access to Saturday tee times during this winter period.
There is no change to any other member category arising from this decision. Of course, this matter will remain under close review by the Board & Management of the Club.
