Dear Members,
We are delighted to advise that the Club’s Development Application (DA) to construct a Water Storage Lake has been approved by Brisbane City Council (BCC) yesterday.
Works will now commence next week in accordance with the communication sent to members a couple of weeks ago, with view to completion by mid September. The Club will comply with all conditions set out by BCC in the DA approval in the completion of works. Nearby residents and those residents on the transport route from the western end of Tufnell Road and Elliott Road to the Nudgee recreation reserve site have received advice on the Clubs planned construction of the Storage lake.
Whilst construction is underway, members are advised that the fenced construction zone is ‘no play exclusion area’ – please see local rules Board. The transport route to remove soil from site will be between the 15th Green and 16th tee areas to the western end of Tufnell Road. Members are requested to transit from the 15th green to the 16th tee via the walkway (path) behind the 15th green.
This is great news for our Club and when completed, the Lake will go a long way to mitigate the issue of water availability during dry periods which have in the past had significant negative impacts on the course and playing conditions.
