Dear Members, a further update on course conditions.
After an inspection this afternoon, regrettably we must advise that the Main Course will be closed for play tomorrow. By means of amplification, the middle of the 7th Fairway (adjacent the mound on the RHS – the highest part of the course) remains ‘casual water’ this afternoon. Other parts of the course still have surface water visible and muddy areas on fairways & rough areas.
We hope that today’s sun and forecast wind/sun tomorrow will speed up the drying process. A further inspection will be conducted early afternoon tomorrow, after which a further advice will be issued in respect of weekend play. Whilst we can hope, it would appear at the moment that the best we can hope for on Saturday at least is walking golf on a reduced number of holes. The Course remains very wet underfoot, we hope that there can be sufficient drying over the next 24 hours to enable us to provide more positive news tomorrow.
As always, the Club House remains open tomorrow for lunch/drinks, thanks to the members who have supported us over the week. Sip n Chip will proceed tomorrow, obviously the 9’ers event has been cancelled. Tony.
