Dear Members, a further course update following a course inspection this morning.
Whilst the course remains very soft in some places, it is drying as well as we could expect given the conditions. We are pleased to advise that tomorrows scheduled competitions (Blue Marker / Tuesday Seniors) will proceed as scheduled. Golf carts can be used on course tomorrow. All bunkers will be GUR tomorrow. Local rules will be updated in the morning in respect of tee up or preferred lie etc. Tees will remain forward on 6th & 10th holes tomorrow. We are endeavouring to mow as much as we can today, however there will be some parts of the course we have been unable to get to by tomorrow.
As the course remains soft, we have done what we can to direct golf carts away from these areas, please do not drive carts into roped off areas (park & walk – with sand). Please do your best to avoid course damage through cart usage. We all know the obvious wet patches on course so we simply ask all members using carts to do their best to protect the course, please keep carts away from entrances to greens, bunkers etc.
Professional Long Drive. Lastly, all members are invited to attend the Professional Long Drive event to be held at VGC on this Saturday, 4th June, from 4.45 pm. Any member wishing to have a crack at the amateur competitions (women & men’s comps available) can register on line at PDLA.com.au, or alternatively, come along and enjoy the viewing the ‘big bombers’ event from the terrace. The ‘tee’ will be between the terrace & 18th green to optimising viewing.
